I finally got to see Mom and Dad again around 8am. I was irritated that it took so long because the NICU nurses said I could see them at 6:30. They put me in the nursery with the other babies to wait for the Pediatrician to come in and see us all. The Doctor said that I was perfect (like we really needed confirmation on that one) and I was finally brought to Mom and Dad's room. They were resting and waiting for me. I was so happy to see them again! Mom held me for a long time and then Dad held me. Mom nursed me for the first time and that is definitely going to take some practice!
Today was a day full of visitors! I felt like a celebrity with all of the paparrazi's taking photos of me. Hope they got my good side!
We kept trying to call my cousin Ryan (or RyRy as Mom calls him) to wish him a happy first birthday. We talked for a few minutes and we kept trying to connect to the internet so we could do a video chat, but the Norwalk Hospital wireless connection wasn't working.
Around 10:45am my grandma Lita came to see me and say hello. She brought a cute card and a pair of pink knit booties. Mom tried to put them on me right away but they're too big for me right now. A little while later, Mumsie came to see me. She brought Mom some really pretty flowers (Peonies, Lillies, Roses) and some yummy looking cupcakes with a hello kitty ring on them. I tried to have some of the cupcake but Mom said I was still too little. I think she didn't want to share. But that's ok.
Grandpopi came by in the afternoon after Lita and Mumsie left. He held me for a while and I slept. I like sleeping. and eating. it's the life I tell ya.
Nana came by in the afternoon and she brought Mom and Dad some chips and some magazines. She also brought some pink roses for me! I even picked out a quilt that I want Mom to make me, so I hope she's working on that. Dad got some grilling magazines and I know that we'll be eating some of those recipes this summer!
Sometime after 5 or so, my Auntie Gabby and Uncle Angel came to see me. Uncle Angle was afraid to hold me because he thought I was breakable. Dad and I thought that was pretty funny. After some convincing Uncle Angel finally held me for about.0002 seconds. I didn't even break! Then they went to the cafe on the 5th floor to grab some food and so that Mom and Auntie Gabby could hang out with me.
Auntie Gabby brought me a cute pink onesie and a bib from her Mom, a super soft stuffed bunny and she brought Mom some gossip magazines. Auntie Gabby held me for a long time and rocked me. she's a natural and I didn't cry once!
Grandpopi left to go and pick up Auntie Marie from the SoNo train station. Auntie Marie was coming from work in the Big Apple! Auntie Marie held me for a while too and talked to me. She has a really cool accent and I hope she can teach me some French!
The end of visiting hours came too soon and everyone had to say good night.
After everyone left and I was fed, changed and burped again, Mom and Dad said it was ok for me go to the nursery so they could sleep for a little while and the nurses would bring me back to them when it was time to eat. I went to the nursery for about an hour and cried the whole time. They finally got the message and brought me back to Mom and Dad. They were happy to see me because they missed me so much. They fed me, held me and then put me down. I slept for about 20 minutes and then I was hungry again. We repeated this a few times until I was finally full. Mom had a noise machine on her cell phone and they put on some white noise for me. Mom is so smart to have had that app handy!
